I am gonna pull the tubes off (from the intake to the I/C) this weekend. The aluminum foil insulation is getting shabby looking, so want to peel it off. Anyone done that?? Any hassles with the stuff?

Then going to have them powdercoated. Thinking either black or black :sly but wondering about heat attraction/absorbtion/retention that would warm up the charged air...Is that an issue. Guess I can just polish them.

Thanks
Mike

You can peel off what foil will come off.. then wire brush them to break up the rest.. Goo Gone, Oops and even some WD-40 will break down the glue/adhesive.

I wiped my OEM* ones down several times with acetone.. then spray painted them with Krylon brand.. Barbecue (Black) paint. OEM's were on for 2 years, Banks ones been on for 6 years.. still look'n good. Satin sheen, not shiny.

:dunno

*Banks charge tubes.. did the same prep for paint. Same paint.
