Well, last week I took my baby down to my local Ford dealership and test drove a 08' F150 CC FX4. Paying 90 cent a gallon more than reg. gas ticks me off! Well, the 1/2 ton just felt rinky dink. It's not as wide, the bed was only 5 1/2' feet. The difference in power was very obivious. I parked the 08' by my 04' S/D and that was the end of the deal. NO WAY could I trade DOWN to a 1/2 ton. I'll just keep him and deal with the higher diesel prices. My son and wife were happy I didn't do it either!
It's like being with a beautiful woman, once you've been there it's hard to drop down to a regular old gal!

i still say nothing hauls people in the safety and comfort like my crewcab !

and compared to a v10 (which is as close as you can get in hp/tq to
the 6.0) im still ahead of the game mpg wise !

i like mine, its paid for...so i figure that gives me 600 bucks to blow a month
on fuel <equal to a payment>

Wise choice.

X2. I have one in the driveway. That truck reminds me of my mother in law. Claims it can do it all, but can't really do anything. Always a problem, doesn't like the cold, or the heat, sagging in the front, wide in the rear, eats alot, and your best bet is to stay away from it.

Yup, I know what you mean. I didn't actually go to test drive one, but I was thinking about going to a F150 gasser.

Then, much like you, I got to thinking about it more...although mine's not payed off yet, I still REALLY enjoy driving it, it does EVERYTHING that I need it to do, it's comfy, plenty of room...etc.

The extra money spent for fuel and maintenance, although it sucks, is still worth it for me to have the truck.

....... AND Insurance, AND Registration fees, AND the money I'd have to spend to get the Full potential out of anything New, AND the money I'd have to spend to get anything New to my own personal level of the Style & Comfort I enjoy.

Not to mention the abilities of my Super Duty to Pull or Carry just about anything I wana Pull or Carry.

And ya Know ? 15 to 20 MPG's ain't to shabby.. for an 8000 pound, Safe or my family, Pick-Up truck.... even @ $5.00 bucks.. plus.. per.

Yep.. I'm Good To Go ;tu ;tu

Oh yea, that's another thing. I need my S/D to HAUL my Mother-In-Law around. An F-150 just ain't got the guts!
Now I did have a sweet 77' F-150 that would pull the world. But it only got 8 miles to the gallon unloaded, pulling my 19' Boston Whaler, 25' Wilderness, or a 14' trailer load of firewood! Mother-In-Law, 4 MPG!

I hear that. My MIL's mouth is so big she keeps her teeth in a bucket on the side of her bed.
