I found this article and had a few questions for you guys:
Hypertec vs Edge vs Superchips
I understand it is a Hypertec ad but it was written by a magazine. My questions to you all are:
Have you experienced the same surge with Edge?
What do you think of the comparison?
Does anyone run the Hypertec programmer?
Is 1350 too high for the EGTs?

Thanks,

1350 for sustained periods is bad! Short bursts for a few seconds is ok, 1227.6 degrees F (IIRC) is the melting point of aluminum. The piston oilers will help cool the pistons some but over 1250 is not recommended on a regular basis.

I had an Edge Evolution which made good power but with stock exhaust would bury the pyro needle easily. With 4" turbo back it wasn't so bad. I didn't read the article but if it was talking about turbo surge all HP programming will cause surge if the conditions are right. My Evo would surge at about 1700-1800rpm in OD if I floored it on flat ground when in Extreme with the stock compressor housing.

A chip will be better EGT wise and make more power.:sweet
