Anyone ever heard of running a truck off of filtered hydraulic fluid? I just recently found some people talking about this when browsing around online. I would have never imagined running hydraulic fluid running through a diesel engine. Hope the hydraulic cylinders on the forlift dont decide to blow up next time I'm driving it

I could see it in a multifuel engine but not too sure on a diesel...I think i would let someone else be the guinea pig

The people that was talking about it said to use a blend of the hydraulic fluid and diesel. I'm not interested. It just sounded like :bs to me

I'm sure it would work but I would be scared of clogging and additives or lack of.

a 7.3 will run on candle wax if you could keep it liquefied...

I know a lot of diesel shops that still have crankcase transfer pumps... drain oil from the crankcase get's filtered and put right in with the fuel

Wow...so you could start up the engine and get it warm on diesel....then switch over to wax since the heat of the engine would keep it melted. Well I guess whatever wax was in the engine already. How would it run off candle wax? (I feel like I'm being gullible for some reason). So do ya'll know of people that has converted their truck to run off hydraulic oil?

not much difference chemically between diesel fuel and say, vegetable oil and such..
candle wax is a little high in paraffin, but has the BTU content to sustain life..

I would have never imagined my truck runnin off of candle wax. I don't understand though how it would burn. Would it explode under heat and pressure like diesel? You're a pretty smart dude...I'm impressed lol
