Is Tymars HPX a hose or a steel tube? The hose assembly is supposed to be changed on a yearly basis IIRC.

Tymar is not a Rigid steel tube...it is a steel braided hose...quite thick I am assuming as I couldn't bend it. I havn't heard that about replacing the hose assembly annually  That would mean my two oil lines coming from the HPOP are 8 years over due! ;)

I have enough experience with hoses and equipment and I think TxAtty knows and respects that. I would no way get someone a hose not fit for the job. Heck there have been problems with vendor hoses. Most are problems from bad install...pinched oring, torque twisted hose when tightening or rubbing. Covering with corrugated plastic tubing a must!

I paid for my hose and now pass the info to other members.:sweet It's just finding a hose shop that knows how to assemble them well and stand behind their work. I can get the same Parker hose DI uses and my shop is a Parker certified hose assembly shop.

As long as you know the extreme temperatures and pressures that the hose encounters and know what the raring is on the hose and fittings you are using then "git-r-done". :sweet

I've seen spikes of around 4500psi on a mechanical gauge temporarily on the cowl when shifting. Oil temp I've seen a high of 230 IIRC.

5000psi burst rating and 500 degrees should get it right? The hose shop has looked at my hose and says that replication is no problem. They know what fittings are usable with the hose specified.:sweet
