HPOP reservoir draining

I have a 95 PSD that recently lost high pressure oil resulting in our replacing the HPOP along with the IPR. Before replacing these items,, the HPOP reservoir would always be full of oil when checked at the pipe plug. But now,, immediately after replacement of the HPOP pump,, the oil is draining out of the reservoir after sitting overnight. After replenishing manually in the morning to be able to start,, the truck will run and start all throughout the day. Any ideas of what might be causing this drain back issue??

Do you have the PN# from the new pump, me thinkst Antonio is right.

Thanks for your reply. I do have a part # (HPP200 ), but I`m not sure it will be the correct one to tell you what you want to know. It is a rebuilt pump and was purchased from a desiel injection shop here in Houston. I tried and would have gotten one from Ford, but I kept getting told by their parts people that I could only get it as a kit which included the IPR (although you can buy the IPR by itself),, which I had just previously replaced the day before.
Anyway,, after your asking and then my looking at my receipt ,, it also says 1995.5, 1996, 1997 & T444E as part of the description for the pump. It is quite possible that I was sold the wrong pump for my build date.

What would be the easiest and most cost effective fix for this? Having to pour a quart of oil in just to get it to start,, will also lead to having to drain oil from the pan to keep from overfilling.

Or,, is there anything else that could cause a drainback issue if it were the correct pump?

That part number doesnt help me much as I dont recognize it.

Here is the Ford part numbers.

High Pressure Oil Pump (Includes F81Z-AA IPR valve; uses F4TZ-A gasket)
(Ford) F4TZ-9A543-BRM (engine serial no. up to 201680)
(Ford) F6TZ-9A543-ARM (engine serial no. 201681 through 99)
(Ford) F81Z-9A543-CA (99.5)
(Ford) F81Z-9A543-BRM (98.5/99)
(Ford) F81Z-9A543-CRM (99.5)

The one in bold face type is most likely the correct PN# for your year model truck.

Thanks for the part #'s. The thing is,, I don't think I`ll be spending another $500 for another pump.
Totally understand the $$ end of it, but maybe you can get the shop to take the other pump back in exchange IF the part numbers do indicate the wrong pump.
