Very true. I live in Redwood country here and we have some mighty big trucks hauling these giant trees to the mills, and they use some real chains and binders. There is a rigging company that will make you any type of tie-down you want, and some you don't. You could easily twist your car and trailer into a ball of metal, with some of this stuff.

I've never used the screw set-up but I think it would be more secure and safer....wouldn't pop back....of course I've never had one to pop back.

Lowes has them. And DONT get the cheapest chain you see. Junk

Get the GOLD colored chain. That's DOT spec chain. The DOT man sees those chains and he wont give you a second look.

X2 on the binder wrap. Plus you wont have to worry about replacing the chains.........ever.

I carry chains.....also carry a strap....but it's only for dragging cars out of ditches so as not to mess up their bumpers.
