I was in NY during the recent Xmas snow storm that dumped 22 inches of snow. I was driving back to my parents house when there was only 12-14 inches of snow on the ground so my 05 Excursion handled it very well.
As soon as I got home I tried to pull my mothers Honda Accord out of the driveway as she had gotten stuck. Unfortunately only one front tire and one rear tire turned and they were slipping real bad. It took me over an hour to get her out. I have Nitto Terra Grappler tires with plenty of meat on them. I know they are not real snow tires but they are better than regular driving tires.
Has anyone installed a locker of some kind in the rear end or a spool in the front end to get a "true" four wheel drive?
