1/2 NPT is awful big. It should be 1/8 or 1/4 NPT. You had better take the thermocouple with you to make sure you are getting the right size!! 1/2 NPT is water pipe for your house.

It is though

Ok I took a picture best I could but it is not going to show up well once compressed on here.

Below the couple is the 1/2 National Fine Tap i have.... 1/2 - 20

The nice little thread measurer next to it shows that it is a 18. After looking in my set and online it appears 5/16.....which I have and 5/8 which I do not have are 18...what ever that number stands for. And knowing that the couple will not fit through a 1/2 drilled hole I hope I'm assuming I'm correct that it is a 5/8 thermocouple. I agree that this is pretty big and I wish they would have used something a lot smaller but they didn't. I'm thinking it might be a good idea to go see if I can find something at home depot....Do you guys thing something like that would be around? Or again should I just go see if I can find a shop that can drill it for me real quick.

Also here is a video of what I have done.

I just realized I think I forgot to hook up the ground on the Tranny Temp gauge so I think that is why it is not working....I hope I forgot otherwise I've got to track down the problem. I've got them all to light up, and of course the pyro doesn't work.

But here is a video of the boost gauge. It is jumping all over the place. Do you think this is due to a leak in my line possibly or near the fittings...possibly where I tied into the map but who knows....or could this effect be caused by the huge whole I have in my manifold where I have yet to insert the thermocouple?

Also does that boost seem low. Seems as though I should be able to get around 15-17 right? I had it pedal to the metal. You can hear the exhaust leak in the background.

Here is the video

The numbers behind the fractional size on a tap are threads per inch. Is your thread measurer for NF and NC only? Remember that you are dealing with NPT (pipe thread is a tapered thread, not a straight thread like bolts are) and that pyro fitting to me appears to be a 3/8 NPT.

Any idea why the gauge was so jumpy.....I'm hoping it is because of the huge whole in the exhaust manifold.

Oh, I forgot to comment on that part....

Yeah, it was/is most likely because of the hole you have drilled in your exhaust manifold right now but...... when my boost is getting to the upper end (30+psi) it will start to oscillate like that as well. I get a pretty loud tick behind the guage also.

Was that video made while you were driving?

I hate to coment on the last part but yes. I clicked play and then stomped on it. Don't worry though, I was looking at the road as you can tell a was not looking at the gauge some of the time.

Dont worry, I wasnt going to comment on the safety (or lack thereof) of the video, I just wanted to know if you were under load when you were pulling boost. Again, get that hole plugged up and then see what you have for boost as you should be in that 17 lb range for sure, I bet you are leaking alot of boost potential out that hole.

My boost gauge is loud as all heck. Mine on my Mercedes is quiet no noise what so ever....Is it becuase it is a cheap :):):) VDO guage or still becuase of my manifold issue?

I just discovered the boost "tube" line on my guage was cracked @ the
intercooler elbow...i heard no "noise" and my guage was steady as a rock...
my only clue was a reduction in boost reported by the guage...i felt
NO performance decrease (or increase)...just have been noticing
for a number of weeks now that i wasnt reading as much boost as i had
in the past.
