45% Dixie. Barely in Yankeedom.
Must be residual effects from my 3 1/2 years in Texas in the Air Force.
Funny side note: I found in my different Air Force assignments around the country, that the longer you spend in any particular region of the country, the more you pick up the slangs, sayings and accents. One that is common here in DA U.P. is that you finish every other sentence with the word "Aye?" like it was a question. Down in Texas, folks like to start everyother sentence with "Y'all".
I started my Air Force career here in DA U.P. , went to Ft. Worth later and returning back to DA U.P. Since I returned to my first base, it didn't take nearly any time at all. So for the first 6 months after returning to DA U.P., Every sentence started with "Y'all" and ended with "Aye?"
"Y'all going to deer camp aye?"
