Well I just did an oil change
Mobil 1 5w40 full syn, hot shot secret full bottle.
I was having a part throttle cold slight miss 2000-2300 rpm. It goes away as soon as the engine is up to operating temp.
have not done a FICM voltage test yet to rule that out.
will see what this does in an oil analysis.

Well, been two weeks now and the truck seems to run a little better. easier starts in the morning, the slight miss has disappeared, I think next week I will do an oil sample. I am lucky enough to work for a place that does in house oil sample analysis. will see what is going on. all in all the truck is running better!

I know it's been years, but just curious if there were any further hot shot secret updates? Also, think they ship directly to Canada now, since you last posted (and lots of new products and formula improvements!)

I tried the EDT.
It makes a slight improvement on winter fuel with my 7.3, not a noticeable gain in the jetta, but I do feel better with it having the HPFP.

will see what this does in an oil analysis.

You'll see more moly and boron.
BUT, you won't know where it came from without a baseline. A used oil analysis revealing calcium, moly, boron, etc. is only as good as the virgin oil analysis to compare it to.
And if you switched brands this time around, there will be some oil from the previous run that will influence the counts.
A UOA won't tell the whole story, but several UOA using the same oil each time can show a trend.
There is no magic in stiction adds. They all have moly and boron.
Remarkably, Motorcraft oil shows a lot of both of those particular components. Seems like they knew something .....
Your 5w40 in Canada was a good choice though.
