Regardless or the law, I would not shoot someone in the back for stealing. I think that situation is very unlikely to arise though. If you catch them in the act, have a light on them, and tell them to freeze odds are they will not move. If they do, you have to shoot them because they could be going for a weapon. But if I come out into the hall to see a guy going out the door with my stuff I am not going to shoot.

Awful lot of testosterone in this thread. One might not want to discuss shooting and killing folks in an online community and then actually carry it out. Falls under the "premeditated" rules.

the entitlement comes in part from the government hand outs...
if you dont HAVE to work then why shouldnt you have everything
anyone else has...

its hard to learn the value of a dollar (much less a life) when you dont
have to do anything for it.

never shot anyone, but i have been kiddnapped, held as a hostage
and shot at TWICE during my 1st day at a certain employer.

i TRY my best to live a good clean life...but that doesnt mean

yes, others are not as accomodating, that's why we should pray for them too.

I do not WANT to shoot anyone! Nor do I sit around dreaming up reasons to shoot others. You want my stuff, fine come and take it. It is all insured and my stuff is not worth a human life. There are very few reasons I would ever shoot another person, but there are three at this time. My wife, my son and myself. I will not allow others to harm my wife and son. Furthermore, if I am killed I can no longer take care of them. So, If you feel you have no reason for a gun, fine. Me having a gun has nothing to do with me living peaceably with all men. I do live peaceably. I fully respect your personal position so long as you do not feel the need to press it on me. I look to the Bible as a guide also.

Lets look at some more Biblical quotes. I'm not advocating any aprticular
action, just showing some contrast.

"If the thief is found breaking in, and he is struck so that he dies, there shall be no guilt for his bloodshed. If the sun has risen on him, there shall be guilt for his bloodshed. He should make full restitution; if he has nothing, then he shall be sold for his theft" (Exodus 22: 2-3.)

Luke 22:36; "Then said he unto them, But now, he that hath a purse, let him take it, and likewise his scrip: and he that hath no sword, let him sell his garment, and buy one.
