Yes, the threads are different. Other than that, I don't know.

I think the filter is about $10-12...but probably could be found cheaper elsewhere if cross referenced.

Is the filter any different than a plain Jane PH8a?

Yes! 11/16"-16 thread instead of 3/4"-16 plus probably material changes to deal with hot water/glycol-based fluids vs. engine oil.

Base = Napa 4019/Wix 24019: Filter-Related Miscellaneous - FleetFilter Online Store

Filters are Napa 4070/Wix 24070 for uncharged filters. Coolant Filters - FleetFilter Online Store I forget the Baldwin equivalent coolant filter numbers, but they're available from Dieselsite.com.

Don't know if you want charged or uncharged filters for the 7.3. For the 6.0, uncharged filters are recommended.

I have a used 4019 filter base available for the cost of shipping. PM if interested.

Thanks guys...Total cost was about $65...plus a few hours of part gophering and making the bracket.

Fantastic job, Hawg. Who cares how it looks. It works, it was cheap, and you did it yourself. Thats what matters. :clap:
