While i had my truck in the garage to do my brakes i found my water pump was leaking a little bit, while replacing the water pump i found the fiting on the side of the powersteering pump rubbed an indentation on the i/c tube the exact shape of the fitting and it just started to form a little pinhole:eek: . and i see that i have a little powers steering leak also. i hadent notices water pump or ps leak until i had it in the garage to do the brakes b/c they werent leaking enough to drip on the ground. when it rains it pours i guess :( .

Any body know where i can get a drivers side I/C tube?

Thanks
Neal

On a weekend, no...if you need to get it back together, I would de-grease the tube thoroughly, and make several wraps of "real" duct tape (the shiny stuff with super sticky glue) over a piece of thin aluminum epoxied or jb-welded to cover the pinhole. That should last for a bit and give you some time to get a new tube.

You're needing something that can handle 28 to 30 psi max...until you can get a new tube...good luck!

i have a 2000 powerstroke, exact same thing happend to me, i pulled the i.c. pipe off, cleaned it with brake clean real good, and welded the hole back together, im a welder by trade but any competant welder should be able to seal that thing up in about 15 seconds, holds pressure just fine and a weld is actually harder than the i.c. pipe so it rubbing through probably wont happen again.

found a set of tubes on ebay, got them today just need to get them cleaned up. i took a piece of air hose cut it long ways and put it over the fitting and zip tied it tite to keep it from happening again. Every other superduty that ive looked at seems to be rubbing there also, would prolly be a good idea for guys to check this!

Don't know about the heat, guess we'll just have to wait and see. I guess you could weld a piece plate to the side of the pipe for reenforcement? dont know how it would fit then?
