Hipothetical Question

So if..........06E17 removed the exhaust back pressure sensor from the PCM strategy, could I remove the EBP and install the thermocouple for a exhaust gas temp gauge? It is in the driver side exhaust manifold......... Any thoughts?

I think you can if you get the connector plug from SP diesel so the EBP sensor does not set a code, adn if you have the correct thread adapter for the manifold.-popcorn

I was told that 06E17 eliminated the ebp from the PCM strategy......so if it has truly been eliminated you should be able to remove and discard it. Question is, is that a good location for the egt sensor and can I get an adapter to thread it in, if it does work, I dont have to drill (remove) the manifold. I will try unplugging the EBP and see if it throws any codes.
