Does anybody know what type and size of thread/fitting, to connect to the head, is used for the high pressure crossover mod?

Thanks,

I did it on my 1996 PSD and I noticed zero difference. I will probably do it on the 2000 since the theoretical benefits to it are solid.

I took a look at the installation instructions and it looks like 1/4" fittings and tube and the boss looks like straight threads as opposed to NPT, does anybody know for sure? I have access to tubing and fittings at work is why I'm asking.

CHPmustang has done this mod and recommended it stating very good results: (to quote Bill) "You gotta do the HX mod (High Pressure Oil Crossover) that will help the engine fire up faster, idle alot smoother, accelerate better, additional mileage gains and of course a quieter engine. To put it in a nutshell you almost gain a cylinder."

I believe the hole is a #5 o-ring boss, you need Viton o-rings. My hose has JIC fittings on the hose ends. You need something that will withstand 5000psi of pressure, when you lift off the go pedal the hp oil pressure will spike over 4000psi sometimes. I have a DI hose that has almost 40k miles with no leaks other than a pinched o-ring the first time I installed it which was my fault.

I got a JIC adapter and hose for my gauge at a local hydraulic store. They are going to make another HX just like mine when I expend this hoses work life.;)

hi, i own a 2001 stroker and use this kit on all the performance upgades i do some people hear a differcne i did . also evens the motor out some the big thing is that with this line installed the oil pressure is eaqual on both heads as opossed to the sensor readin one head and the other getting what it gets.

a good source for this kit or just the list of parts you need is at http://www.dieselinnovations.com lots of good info here and this guy knows his stuff. good luck . just remeber if you do build this kit yourself plaese make sure the line you use is rated high enoff psi.

Finally got off my butt and put my nitemare on. Took a few miles to get the air out. Sounds so much healthier. I used straight fittings in the heads, 90"s on the hose end at the head and straight ends at the cross. Oh, I forgot to say there are two hoses. At the 4way cross that mounts above the fuel filter, the two head lines connect. That leaves two open ports, one for the gauge and one for the aux. high pressure oil pump. I'm getting sicker Dan. Come put me out of my misery.

I just did mine a few weeks ago and she's such a quiet running engine that the cackle really stands out.........so I'm gonna use the same theory and install a Fuel Hx from the #1 (1/8npt) fuel test port underneath the A/C compressor to the #8 test port underneath the turbo. Spent many hours reading all of Texas Town Car results and printed it all out and talked to my NAPA buds and they ordered my steel fittings 1/8" npt 90* w/ the hydraulic barbs rated @ 400psi 200r7 hose or something like that. On another board diesel71 or one of the guys there mentioned that it also worked well for him so SOON.......I will do it and post results....now back to Original thread yes it did help smooth out the idle and quiet down the truck I can almost sneak up the drive way before the dogs hear me drive up now... lol...C-man:D

Well I finally took the plunge and bought a hose from Diesel Innovations and installed it last weekend.
I think I noticed a difference after a while, don't know if it was my mind wanting to hear and feel the change or if it was real.

Thanks,
