I would like to add high idle control to my truck? Is there a way to use the upfitter switches or can I get the option with a tuner?

Hey T,

Many tuners offer a High Idle, as an option.. I ordered a DP tuner with a 1200rpm high idle.. works well.

ummmm, why?

do you have need or want? there is a difference.

if i recall correctly, trucks shut off after excessive idle time to protect emissions system.
otherwise....

Hmmmmm..

Nice when yer caught in traffic for a few.. A/C is cooler.

Nice when yer doing a Jump Start.. speeds up & raises the volt/amp input.

Nice if yer using yer Winch.

Nice when using an Inverter.

' jus to mention a few uses ? :);)

Yea Joe, I seem to idle a lot. According to the computer I have 1500 miles on the truck and 18 hours idling. Serously considering the tuner with that option as it looks way simpler than rigging the upfitter switches.

Don't know if the 6.7 is different from the 6.0 on the upfitter switch's,
but on mine I just wired two wires together. I put mine on number 4.

Found some pictures:

You can get a knob for the potentiometer from radio shack. I mounted mine next to the 4x4 switch. I'll try to get a pic tomorrow.

Here is the potentiometer
