Please help
I have a 04 f-350 that i use to tow a fifth wheel rv. It is also my every day driver. I just put in the banks ottomind 6 tuner to help with power. It came with a PDA that displays almost every temp reading you could think of. When i first hooked it up the setup tells you to do 0-60 mph in all 6 levels to teach the trans the new power levels. I got to level 4 and the oil temp warning went off at 225f. I talked to banks and thay said fords run hot and i could turn the warning alarm setting up to 235 or 245 max. I towed my fifth wheel this weekend and it went up to 260. So my ? is " what is a safe max OIL temp or is something wrong with my truck?" by the way my engine temp is good at 190 to 198 at all times. Thank you for your help!
P.S. on 6 the truck does 0-60 in 7.3 sec. It puts you back in your seat!

I'm surprised that 225 is considered hot for engine oil... that's only a few degrees hotter than boiling. It's only what, 30-35 degrees hotter than the coolant temp? I'd expect 325 to be hot... or 300 maybe.

You are talking about the engine, and not the tranny, right?

My engine oil temp reached 285 degrees F. At that point the tech said he didnt need any more evidence, and diagnosed a restricted oil cooler.
