I just installed the APC aftermarket wire harness and kept the stock bulbs for the present. The neat part is using the diode (35 cents) to keep the low beams on when the high beams come on, wow, the difference in light is amazing. So far I have not seen any heat issues with both bulbs on at the same time.

So did you just put a diode inbetween the High and Low leads on both lights? I understand what a diode does, just trying to figure out exactly what you did.
:thanks

The pre made harnesses are real nice, not much work required to install (important for me, I have enough) .
They use heavier wire right off the battery and a relay, the stock wiring can't take having both beams on all the time.
I assume you guys hand wiring em are doing that, right?
Headlights are never bright enough.:sweet
You just gotta remember to turn the hi beams off when someone comes along:eek:

It is nice to be loved :D

johnrrogers,

One thing I have learned is NEVER use CHEAP bulbs, I have probably tried over 20 different brands and sets.

Most won't hold up to use like that.

I have blown up my fair share, but it is all in good of research. ;)

I was lucky, I had an oulet that where i could buy them CHEAP CHEAP CHEAP at the time, so it wasnt' a big deal.

Now days, I stick with NAME brands ;)

Take care,
