Its been -30 here for a couple of days but now it is warming up It is suppose to get above 0 today. Too bad I have to go up North for the third time this week. Forecast up there- Mostly clear. Lows 35 below to 45 below zero. East winds 10 to 15 mph. Wind chills 50 to 60 below

When they say to take precautions they mean it. Tuesday night I was halfway up the pass when it became apparent that one set of chains was not going to be enough to negotiate the snow drifts so I jumped out right quick and threw another set. When I got back in 1-2 minutes later my ears were froze solid. They have been very tender and hurting for the last four days and now they are starting to peal. Note to self... Put on hat before going outside! I do this every year, you think I would learn after the first or at least fifth time.
