This is what you are missing out on... All the work that is...
1. Mowing the lawn
2. Fruit trees in bloom.
3. Diesel I have been using the most lately.
4. West field rototilled.
You guys in the snow country, sitting by the fire, drinking some hot coco, relaxing, reading a book, as we toil away down here.

I wouldn't call Michigan much of a snow country anymore. This year there was very little snow. Right now the weather broke and is currently 60 degrees. Being nice outside allowed me to scrap out 2 trucks this week. I got one left. We did have a fire going though :sly

Will you adopt me ?

Being serious,,, the one thing my wife and I regret is that we never had children. You guys who have children are very fortunate.

Not being serious,,, I told the wife I wanted to adopt two littler girls,,, she said no... I said two little 50 year old girls.... She is not very understanding...lol...:roflmao

i'll be your SDD.com child max. if you want someone to call family. :thumbs

Sounds good to me...

One of the things I miss is being able to have a son to share times with at the race track. I have two racecars, and no son to have fun with. Anytime you guys come to this area, I would be happy to let you drive both of the cars. One is a drag car and the other is a road racing car. All my friends are to old to enjoy racing. I love to go racing, but it is much better when you can share the good times. Bama, Crumm, to bad you guys don't live closer.

If I ever make it down that way I will look you up. Speaking of getting down that way I have not been to California since about 1999 when we took the kids to Disneyland. I think the last time I drove down there was probably around 1990.

What are you planting in the West Field?

I am not planting anything this year. Here in Redding the summers are very hot. From March through May, the grass grows very high, and if you do not keep it watered, it is a fire hazard in the summer. So I just till it up. Years ago when we had animals, we kept the fields watered during the summer for the cows. It is always a challenge to grow a garden here, because of the deer eating their share.
When we had the ranch in Oregon, it never got to hot, so the pasture was green all year until December when the cold would kill the grass. It was to much for me to keep up, so we sold it last year. Our property line went to the top of the mountain and down the other side about 100 yards. For a young person it was a fun ranch.

Don't tell Al Gore this, he'll blame it on global warming. :D :D

Maxtor, I know what you mean about no kids. My wife and I are both only children, but we have two sons, one just turned 30, the other one will soon be 27. After they left home, it was very quiet, but they live in the area. The youngest one and his wife have a 2 year old daughter, so we have her on Saturdays, while he's work (deputy sheriff) and our daughter-in-law can clean house, go to beauty shop, etc. The little one really "runs us ragged", but by the middle of the week, we're already ready for her again. They have tickets for both NASCAR races at Texas Motor Speedway next month, so we'll be babysitting all weekend.
