Ok, i know i havent had a chance to post much, but i figured everybody would like this story or at least sympathise with me, lol, i finally got around to doing my rear main seal and suncoast converter in my 00 F350 powerstroke, i finally found someone to let me borrow the 500 dollar tool to install the rear main seal/ wear sleave and we went about doin it all this morning, started at 8am, had the tranny and transfer case out rather quickly, did the rear main no problem, it was the original one, no wear sleave yet and there was a rather large gauge around the crank, wear sleeve took care of that, seal went on good, then we went about pullin the pump outta the tranny and splitting it to drill for the TCC lockup orifice, puttin in suncoasts orifice and drilling the hole slightly larger than stock, put it all back together, converter fit perfectly, bolted it all back up and fired her up by noon, then the bad news, she still leaked...same spot, only thing we can figure is its the oil pan, we checked out the back of the pan while everything was out and it looked mint, sealant was a perfect bead around the back of the pan, so we left it alone, but when the truck gets some heat in her and you put a small mirror up by the corner of the pan, its seaping, pretty bad too...it almost seems like its worse then it was now, lol...and we fixed the rear main, thats dry as a bone, and it def was leaking before. So now its on to the ford dealer on monday to see about how much they are gonna charge to do a pan gasket, gotta love having to take the motor out to do an oil pan gasket, -mad , sucks, but i guess **** happens, i'm hopin for something higher up leaking, but all looks well on top of bellhousing, and if it is leaking its nothing like whats crying out the bottom, so thats my rant, only good thing is the converter feels real good, very nice piece, i cant wait for it to stop raining so i can get on her a little, lol.
