you did check all the pressurized tubing clamps and connections on the charge air side of the intake plumbing right??
for leaks or popped off, does your tuner have a code reader? does it do it with the stock program loaded???
other than that I would have to eyeball the truck based on what we got here

did your physically look at the turbo and see if its free spinning by hand or wobbly...but that is reaching....did all of this start right after the bio fuel change
:sorry

I have visually inspected all hose connections for the air intake and intercooler. All looked fine.

I was reading through another post (http://www.superdutydiesel.com/forums/showthread.php?t=2894&highlight=EBPV) and wondering if i may be having some of the same problems.

Can i unplug my EBPV as a troubleshooting technique? i have put in a question to Dennis from ITP to see if he has had any issues with the DP-Tuner chips like this.

True, my problems did begin 4 days after i put in a full tank of blended veggie diesel; however, the problem is periodic and my fuel filter was not coated or clogged from visual inspection. In the thread posted above, they discuss some screen in the fuel bowl and cleaning it with q-tips and a mirror. I am going to take a look at that tonight.

BTW - which direction does the fuel flow? inside the filter to out or visa-versa?

No screen in the SD's FPR that I know of, that's OBS. Yes you can unplug the EBPV at the base of the turbo on the front side for trouble shooting the EBPV.

The only way I know my pre-pump filter(2 micron) is clogged by a vacuum gauge between the filter and the pump.

OK - unplugged the little connector that was indicated in the picture with the wire to hold it in... Did not have a chance to drive the vehicle though.

Keeping fingers crossed

It seems i still have an issue with degraded performance - even in first gear, the truck will not hit full boost and lags off. Is there a chance the EBPV is stuck? how do i "wire" the unit open?

Do you have any other suggestions as to what could be wrong?

Where is the fuel pump on a 2000 Excursion just in case i find the pressure is low and decide to change out the unit over the weekend? What tools will i need to perform such a task? WIKI?

If the EBPV is stuck closed it'll sound like a 747 hissing on the tarmac off the tailpipe.
The fuel pump will be on the drivers inside frame rail basically under the driver, one line inlet and one outlet.

When in neutral can you redline the tach if you punch it?

"Could" be low fuel pressure at the FPR but the only way is to slap a gauge on it to eliminate it.

affirmative - in neutral and park the engine seems to be unaffected. Only during a load condition does the performance seem to be degraded wherein it does not have 100% power to surpass or even maintain 60mph - additionally, from a dead start, it will not boost fully and the acceleration drops off without me releasing the pedal.

What pressure should i read for optimal performance? What reading would be a tale-tale on the condition of the FPR?
