help with predator

hi everyone i installed a predator in a friends truck and it saved the factor tune then when i tried to install a performance tune it locked up and not it won't start. i tried to reinstall the factory tune and now it says in doesn't recongize the truck and we can't get it to start. any body have any idea's or i'll have to just wait till monday and call diablo and see what i need to do

First, welcome to the site.

Lets clarify things abit:

Was this programmer already installed on another truck, I mean yours, and you were just showing it off to him?

Did you turn the ignition on when you weren't supposed to?

i have ahde this problem once when installing this tunner . you may want too try and use the dianostic part of the controler see if that helps . also maybe discont your batteries and with the bateery disconted turn the key on for about 1 mintue and then turn key off recont the batteries and plug your tunner in and see if it will do anything and make sure you got a chage in your batteries hope this helps

i suggest a call to diablo. my predator said it stored the factory tune so i installed a performance tune in it. when i tried to restore the factory tune it wouldnt reconize the vehicle. so i called them and they gave me a code kinda like a cheat code for a playstation. you know up, up, l, r, dn, up. etc. anywayz it worked. so there ya go , try that.

I hate to break it to you, but you may have to go to Ford....

try all the suggestions here and by ALL means call Diablo...
and don't tell Ford

this was a brand new unit from diablo i was just installing it for him on his truck

Jody at DP-Tuner can probably reflash the computer if needed. He can put either a factory tune or a performance program on your PCM.

i believe the tuner comes with a copy of the factory tune in it from diablo. how else could they have restored my pcm after the diablo "forgot" the ford factory tune? i could be totaly wrong, but how else could they do that over the phone with a code using the directional buttons? but i realy kinda wish i got a chip. by the way, does a chip tweak the trany like a programmer does. like line pressure and shift points?
