Actually (gulp) I took it to the dealer and went to the service desk and the service advisor (a woman) got it off. In no way am I being sexist but it was humiliating. She said she had smaller fingers so it wasn't that bad.

The two ears on opposite corners....squeeze them pretty hard and push up going through the top of the panel. one side comes out pretty easy and the other takes a little finesse. At least I think that's how she got it out.
