X3 for me!

jourden-

what's nice about SDD is that there are many here who have walked the road before you and we are happy to advise you on your journey.

the number one rule when working on trucks (and cars) is NOTHING should be hard. don't force things together when they don't want to fit. it's usually easier than you think.

second is if you are having second thoughts about the next step, put your tools down, step back and think about it/reread the manual.

it's ok to be frustrated. its part of the learning process. hopefully you have learned and gained confidence and are ready to tackle the next mod.

bob,

Another question for you...I'm having a bit of trouble getting the filter to clear the battery cover and had to take the cover off. Is this supposed to be like this or did I do something wrong?

Thanks again for everything!!

Jourdan

I guess I did the same wrong thing. I had to hack up my battery tray and eggshape one hole on the bracket to get it away from the upper radiator hose, mine doesn't go through the belt since I have dual alts. I didn't want it to rub a hole in the hose.

I had the radiator out on install since I was flushing and changing to Fleetrite ELC along with 203 t-stat and water filter. I just rolled with it since I had to have the truck that afternoon. I eventually plan on moving it to the frame rail with my Racor oil bypass filter.

hello. I have hopefully a easy question I had to buy a new W/P and I could not reinstall my coolant filter on my 7.3 because the outlet where the filter gets the water from has a square drive head to it. its smaller than a 3/8 but bigger than a 1/4????????? what is it, whats it called, and where can I get it....

Thanks

it should be a standard pipe plug. grab it with a crescent wrench. a 8 pt socket from sears will do it too. heck use vise grips! inless it is a female square. in that case, i might try a 3/8 wobble extension bit.
