My Birthday is next week and I am looking to get a programmer, but there are so many and they all offer around the same output, but with a total different price.

- I want a plug and play, I do not want anyone to have to run wires and hook up sensors (because I can not do that sort of thing)... it just never works out for me at all.

At this point I am leaning towards the SuperChips because their name and product history are terrific. The price versus the results are very reasonable, but there is the Bully Dog and Edge that are right there too... So if you have a '99 7.3 chipped, which do you have and how are your results????

Any focus and direction would be helpful guys. Thanks in advance.:thumbs

I would go with a SCT tuner myself if you dont want to do a chip. Many vendors can hook you up with a SCT X cal2... its more then just a programer, you can read and clear codes, live data logging, you can have as many programs as you want saved on your home computer and upload the ones you want onto the tuner... The best by far...

I use the SCT with SCT programs. I have ridden in a truck powered by an Edge and another truck powered by Superchips. The Superchips truck didn't seem to have much power. Even on the highest setting. The Edge was quite powerful, but the transmission shifting needed some attention and the EGTs climb very quickly. I have also heard of some Edge programmers faulting out and leaving a truck stranded (during program change).

The SCT is much faster when switching programs and can be customized very easily. You will also want some gauges. With my SCT it is difficult to reach 1200F in the tow program, but the performance will get there in a hurry (as will you).
