Well, just my luck! I ordered another Autometer probe from Carlinis Performance Parts in FL. Great people! Ordered it Wed., got it yesterday (Friday). This one was the 2-piece type (short piece off the probe that connects with the little screws and bolts to the lead to the gauge). Anyway, I used my multi-meter on the probe and sure enough, it would sing when I touched the leads to the shielding. Dead ground again! I am really fustrated with this gauge thing. I'm thinking about just ordering another brand of gauges and starting all over!
