I installed new fuel filters last night and now truck won't go! I did everything the same as usual, but I wonder if I f'ed something up.

I'm not getting any fuel to the upper filter. Is there a particular procedure for putting the lower filter in other than snapping it in the cap and screwing it in?

I guess I will be spending the evening after work laying under the truck!!

Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!!!

The only thing that comes to mind is letting the electric fuel pump run for a bit. Just turn on the key and listen for the hummm. Cycle the key a few times and it should work.

Like Dave said the system should be self priming. Cycle the key on and let the pump run for 30 seconds or so...........then key off..............then back on. You are trying to push a hugh air bubble through the system and back to the tank.

I don't know that much about the 6.0 but................

If it won't prime you might give it a little help by pouring some fuel in the upper fuel bowl or crack the lid open a little to help expel the air while cycling the pump.

You will notice the inside of the filter[opposite the cap end] has an indexing tab. You might want to remove the filter, and put the filter in w/out the cap...turn it while pushing in and you'll feel it seat. Then install the cap. filter could be slightly crushed. It can happen.

you GOTTA cycle that key...turn the key ON and listen / wait for the
pump to stop running (could be as much as 30sec)...to this 4 or 6 times,
then try and start the truck.

ive NEVER had an issue, starting or running, after ive changed my filters
when i follow this proceedure

When I changed the filters last night, I cycled it 5 times, but then this morning, no go.

We'll see when I get home tonight. I am going to pull that bottom filter and make sure it is OK then cycle the sh*t out of it. I checked the upper filter this morning before work and it was OK, but no fuel in the bowl.

Just wanted to thank everyone for the quick responses. Got home last night, cracked the cap on the engine filter, cycled it a few times, tightened the cap, and BAM.......fired right up.

Oh well........mark one up to stupidity for not making sure the air was out!

Good deal, glad it all worked out for you.
Hate it when the truck is down.
