the way I understand it is where my truck is built or what part of the country it took delivery in the warming "cord" was not an option on that truck.

This is just what I was told today the diesel mechanic.

who knows but I did read on here yesterday someone using a marine boat adapter and splicing into that cord and running a timer to turn "heat" on to aid in cold starts.

not sure but thanks for all the replies.

05 and up Strokes ALL have the block heater, but not all of them have the cord. The cord could be tucked in behind the fog light somewhere on the passenger side, but there is an equally good chance that it just isn't there.

There are several options though...you can go to the Ford parts counter and buy the cord assembly, not sure about the price though. You can get one off evilbay...$25-30 for a universal cord. Or if you have a farm store nearby, they may very well have the same cord as the ones on ebay for about the same or maybe less...this was the case for me. I think it was about $20 locally.

If you want to add a different plug to the cord, that is also an option. There are several writeups floating around the web about that.
