I got a few posts up before I saw this part of the forum,so now I can follow protocall ! My name is john griffin and I presently reside at starvation lake (yes its really a place) michigan.I have had diesel trucks and RV's since 1971 when I swapped a DH 478 gm diesel and np540 trans into my new 1970 f 250 4wd.Anyway I now have a 2000 extended cab 7.3 that I tow the horse trailer and 37' fifth wheel toy hauler. I bought the truck new in 1999 and have 205000 miles on it.Ihave had a TS 6 position tuner andon it for a while with pillar gauges.It has had a 4" straight exhaust on it for a while.This summer the stock,original trans was getting scary with eratic shifts and flares so a BD trans and converter was installed.While the trans was out I replaced the original up pipes with the IH stainless ones The exhaust manifolds were really rusty,the bolt heads were actually gone in most places so I knew what was comming!Last week the whole end of the pass side manifold blew out when we were returning from the sand dunes at Mears Mi.I was pulling the toy hauler and this happened right in the hills at Cadillac on 131.Boost dissapeared and egts went thru the roof,but I was able to derate the fuel it as it passed 1370 deg. Presently I have the motor out and am doing battle with whats left of the bolts.and doing a turbo rebuild with new bearings,seals,and a wicked wheel2.So,thats what I have for now,I will be watching these forums to see what others are doing.
