My warranty is almost up, so I put it into the local stealership for an inspection. They replaced the ball joints and track rod joint and told me they will be looking at an oil leak. So they pulled the trans to replace the rear oil seal and found the leak to be the bed plate. Got a call yesterday that now the bed plate is warped and they are waiting approval from ford to replace the engine. Reman'd short block. 46,00KM. Go figure. Also one of my mains was scored. I looked at it and I could hook my fingernail in it. I hope ford's rebuilders are good.

X2 on the "almost out" and not "just out" of warranty. Were the ball joints and track rod joint covered under warranty?

2005 PSD SB FX4. 75,000 miles. The last month in 2 weeks. Just dealt with the plate. I get it back- they left everything loose under the hood take it back raise H........ Now the EGR leaking- I told them about that when I took it in , I guess they just forgot.
I have always been a Ford guy- but now I can tell you not so happy. Been through injectors-seal leaks-alternator. Every time in it costs $ 100.00 deductable. Good luck..........................

You should still have a year and 25,000 miles left on the warranty or did you buy your '05 in late '04?
Mine is a '04 and I bought it in August '04 so I still have a couple months left on the warranty. I am getting ready to bring mine as well for a small oil leak and for being "down on power" thats how I get them to check the turbo and EGR.:sly

Thanks. I bought my 2005 in July 2005- still have another year except thinking about the mileage. Love the truck- up until this last month just little things-was told today the got ok from ford to replace EGR then they test it - if still leaking then they check for head gasket- then they will again have to get approval from Ford to replace head gaskets- not too efficent labor wise- if it need head gaskets- I talked to the rep he will put in new head bolts- if I buy- that is fair- but the truck will be tied up at least one more week. So far truck has been in shop 3 weeks out of the last month- the rig is paid off so no payment.
I am back to driving my trusty 1998 E250 150,000 and going strong.
