I'd like to update my 2001 F-350 headlights with the newest stock Ford headlights--(OEM=no cheap chinese knockoffs!!) I think the clear Ford headlights from 2002-2006or 7 will snap in with little problems--any help would appreciated ! Happy New all FORD FANS/OWNERS!!!:sweet

Headlights

Yep your right they look great for the first week and the light emits more with the clear housings then the composite ones you have, I got a set of marker and headlights from a 2004 F250 for $80 on Craigslist. No modification needed except for the adjustment obviously. Made my 2001 look 4 years newer but without the 6.ohhhh curse.

Thanks IHC

Thanks for the tip IHC on my headlights ! What is the "Foil Delete" mod and what is the advantage ? Any other easy 7.3 PSD mods I can do ? I have eliminated the muffler, added AFE filter,Air-Ride bags for towing our 38 ft. fifth-wheel,drilled the panel by radiator for more ram -air to filter box, added 4 1/2 qt larger Hughes Trans pan. Afraid of any tuners or chips--so haven't added one yet for fear of overpowering drive train--any tuner suggestions? Thanks again ! Happy New Year !

Your welcome

The foil delete has no brake horse power according to the dyno but it looks nice cleaned up with sand paper and scotch brite. As far as the tuner go's your T444E is designed to last indefinetly for a long time, once you add more fuel the risk of failure is increased, alot of people do modifications like the Zoodad (header panel trimming). Air intake and exhaust but if you want it to last then stock is the way to go, trailer pulling you might think about an aftermarket wastegate to get a little more boost but from my experience a stock well maintaned engine will last forever. I have seen them in 30k lb trucks and buses go for over 350k. Filter changes and regular service will be the deciding factor. FORD, bodies rot off industructible drivetrains!

IHC--Thanks for the great info ! My 2001 F-350 has pulled out 38 ft,15k lbs Fifth Wheel Rv from Indiana to the Fla Keys nine times (2,800 mile round trip) with never an issue. I change Motor Craft Oil & Filter regularily (3K miles when towing) With almost 100k miles this FORD F-350 is amazing and definitely Built Ford Tough! PS; What is AIH delete ? Thanks again--stay warm up there !

Florida runs are great, mine has been there 4 times down to Port Charlotte and back. AIH is the air intake heater to preheat the air coming into the engine, along with the glow plugs when the engine needs them, they say more air flow from putting a plug into the hole but a diesel is a variable fuel engine and the air quantity is the constant variable in the equation. when the engine speeds up it's due to fuel timing and delivery duration, or injection. That's up to you but if you have had good luck with the truck so far, why chance it. "don't fix it unless it's broken". A top ten Ford Diesel mechanic in the state who was my foreman at Ford told me that and his truck is beautiful! 425k and still running strong, he's the only reason I bought mine. Thanks Dave!!!

Not to argue the point (?).. but

Because the AIH only pre-heats intake air during the Cold Start cycle..and
because the heating coil is about as big around, as an average Thumb..... it's location, in the 3.? inside diameter Intake.. seems to be.. An unnecessary Restriction.. after warm up.

Smooth, laminar (non-turbulent) Air Flow is a positive... during Normal driving conditions... More so, when "Working".. the engine, like towing ?

I deleted mine :dunno

Thanks again IHC ! Think I'll do the AIH delete. Your Fla trip to Port Charlotte may be near us on Pine Island (we are staying at least a month here before heading to the Keys). I caught 18 nice Sea trout in Charlotte Harbor yesterday, before the cold front blew in from the North. PS:Is there a kit for the AIH delete or method ? Your PSD Friend, Harry:hail

ITP Diesel has them..

Got to this shortcut and you'll be in the right direction, But be aware that in low temperatures if you do not plug the truck in you will have a hard start condition, I agree/disagree with Big Joe cause he's in California and your in Indiana, temps are much different between those two locations.
