Not sure about upgraded gaskets, but I know they revised the torque sequence and head bolt spec.'s from the original 03'. I'd be interested to know about upgraded gaskets also because I had mine changed in 06'. Did I get new/improved gaskets? I know I got better fasteners because I opted to use studs instead of factory bolts. I know Hypermax makes aftermarket headgaskets for the 6.0, but I was talked out of it and was told that the studs are all I needed to upgrade, except for the replacement of both warped heads!

Red, care to elaborate how you pulled that off! Did you think you'd get away w/ telling us "long story"? :D. What else did you have done that would have totaled over 15K!? Under warranty,(in one visit) I had 2 heads replaced(because they were warped),oil cooler, egr cooler, egr valve, turbo, couple of other minor items, and still would just have been a little more than half of what they say you would have paid. I did supply the a.r.p.'s and paid a little extra labor for this. Sounds like you (or your attorney) told them what was up :sweet

Yes, Ford really wants that much! The cab has to come off. It isn't as bad as it sounds. It is a lot of work, though. You can buy a used, but running motor on eBay for about $6000. Labor is not cheap at the Dealership.
