In an earlier thread it was suggested to check/retorque the head bolts after adding any horsepower altering device (tuners, chips, etc.) Makes sense to me. Does anyone know the torque value and suggested torque pattern for the last ('07) version of the 6.0L? :thanks

The pattern is the usual inside to outside, that is the center bolts get torqued first and then you move to the next ones from the center and so on. The torque is 65 ft lbs on all of the 10 inside bolts (the main bolts) and then turn the bolts 90° clockwise, turn the bolts 90° clockwise a second time, and then turn the bolts 90° for a third time. If any of this is not totally clear, you need a manual. It is not as simple as turning a few bolts. No online manuals exist.

bad idea

It's not possible to "retorque" the head bolts on a torque + angle head bolt as you would need to totally loosen and retighten the bolts, which are not re- useable, and the head gaskets would need to be replaced (engine removed from truck).
So if you're worried you need to removed your engine, and you might as well install studs and new gaskets while you're at it...
