I read that the gasoline is there to remove the glycerin or waxes or something. I didn’t read about the other ingredients. Cetane booster is a good thing and so is anti-gel. I know of people that add a little Kerosene in there mix so I think it can't be that bad. I would assume that a small amount of gas is not consequential. Bio Diesel has Methanol in it, what’s the real difference? Methanol is essentially alcohol I think. Not a clue what dimethylbenzene xylol (xylene) does though.
Other than the few additives in it, it's WVO which runs through are trucks pretty good once warmed and filtered right? Basically it looks like the additives just keep the oil more fluid and mixed better.
Is there a Biodiesel showroom somewhere? Plus, there probably is a forum for this process we just don't know where it is yet. I'm not saying jump right into this but more research might be needed if it could turn out to be easier and cheaper to do. I think the long term drawbacks are injector pumps that wear faster.
(There was a discussion on another forum about this. A tech over there knows of 3 guys who have used this in their trucks all three have had to have the injectors replaced and other fuel related problems.) What caused the three people to have injector failures. Also, is it from the DSE mix or was it just their injectors time to die? I guess you would have to weight the part costs with the fuel price money saved.
Let's keep this thread going to get a broad spectrum of opinions!!
