Awesome, thanks for the pic...What am I looking for in that IPR?? "stickyness"?

-Casey

Here is a real good article concerning the IPR vavle written by a guy with some very "colorful" history. Put his history behind and read the article as it is worth your time.

IPR info.

IPR o-rings are notoroious for giving hard hot starts because the oil will easily blow past the ipr o-ring and you can't build pressure.

As for stickyness just rattle it around and see if it rattles if it does then it's good clean it off with some brake cleaner or carb cleaner & reinstall. with a set of new o-rings.

IPR failure should give you hard starts when warm and a surging idle when warm also.

After reading this thread I believe I have an IPR issue too. Once warm I have a distinct surging idle but the scanner shows no codes and passes.
Now thinking back on THIS PREVIOUS THREAD, maybe that's my problem? :dunno

It seems like it is gettting easier and easier to throw CELs when under accelteration (even in Econo mode on the chip).

Sounds like IPR o-rings would be a good starting point. If you're gonna be down in the east bay anytime soon shoot me a PM and I'll pull the codes for you.

Hey Don...Do you know which part number is current on your list for the IPR o-rings?? Is it the one ending in AN or AA?? (Ford Part #) I'm getting mixed reactions from the internet and I'm sure you know what I am talking about when I say sometimes those guys behind the parts counters at dealers are not the sharpest tacks in the box. :whah

Thanks,
Casey

It most definetely depends on the dealer...up north they are real good (helpful, informed etc...) here in the bar area...not so much
