Can't believe I am gonna discuss haircuts  but here it goes.
Years ago I got spoiled when a barbershop put warm shaving cream on the ol' neck and around the ears and went to town with a straight razor. Had to change barbers because my last one started losing his eye sight and I still wear a flattop, not a good combo. So today I am out driving around and find a place in Casa Linda Plaza. Find out that they do flattops climb in the ol' chair and at the end guess what...out comes the warm shaving cream and straight razor :D . So if any of you local guys are looking for this it is located across from the cafeteria at the back of the mall (down from Chili's and around the corner). 15.00 for a flattop, 12 or 13.00 for a regular haircut.

I tell you what, that straight razor on the neck with the hot shaving cream is good stuff. When I hit my teens I started going to my dads barber who does the same thing. As it turns out, that guy had been cutting my dads hair since he was 16. I just went back the other day after six years of being gone and he still remembered who I was. I guess because I used to help clean the shop once a year for $30 and all the pizza I could eat. He's definately looking a little older and his hands seem to shake a little more but that was the best haircut I've had in six years I tell you what! At least I know of a place in Charleston where they do the same thing. Too bad Curtice won't be there when I go in to have my ears lowered.

Craig,

I know what you mean. I've been going to an old school barber in Grapevine off 121 for several years. Warm shaving cream and straight razor. Love it!:sweet

i cut my hair, both of my sons, my dad's hair, my BIL, and his son.

we all go for the short look, so i cut with a set of wahl clippers. it has 8 diff. guides that you can use.

saving about 60.00 between all 6 of us.

I do the same, the clippers have paid for themselves a few times. Also, I can just jump in the shower and don't have to deal with the little hair pieces that get down your shirt and itch. I use the "1" on the sides and a "2" on the top. Pretty short, don't want to be accused of being a hippy.
