GRRRRRRRRRRRRRR, VAC PUMP AGAIN!!!!

Ok,

I am getting tired of this.

My vacuum pump went out on me again, on the way home, on 635, in the rain, in RUSH HOUR TRAFFIC!!!! Shocked

It completely locked up and shredded the belt at the same time.

Once I figured that was the issue, I was able to get it off the road and then look at it more.

Got my brother over there and then drove it home without any belt!!! Shocked

Yall try stopping or turning a OBS is no BELT!!!! It ain't no fun!!!

I was able to drive it to the house before it overheaded because of water pump not turning Wink

Just wanted to WARN anyone doing a Vacuum Pump.

DO NOT BUY ONE FROM AUTOZONE, This is the 3rd one that has went out for me.

That sux. Don't be surprised if the vacuum pump from Ford is reconditioned and made in Romania. Don't ask me how I know this.

On the pump is a sticker saying:
MADE IN ROMANIA
The Ford box says reconditioned.

That sucks Big K. That is why I try to stay away from BrokeZone. I have had good luck with O'Reilly's.

They should be able to get you a new one rather than reconditioned if you special order it. Imported parts ought to be outlawed

It ain't no fun in a 2000 Superduty towing an 8k 28' travel trailer like that either.....earned that the hard way last summer when my waterpump shot it guts and fan out the front missing the radiator by a hair's width.

Advance Auto Parts can get both new and reman pumps for the '97..... Interesting the new one is cheaper and no core

Yea,

I found that O'Reilly's has a CARDONE pump with lifetime warrenty for $112.

I might just go that route, since the ones that are from Ford and Autozone is only 1 year replacement.

And the ones from FORD maybe not very good to begin with.
