Ok so what is the best way to go?

If you were going to have to drive up from Hwy40 to Dolores would you take Hwy 160 from Flagstaff or would you take Hwy 491 from Gallup?
Which is most likely to be the "sure bet" in the middle of February?

Afraid I'm not familiar with either highway coming from the South. I've been through Flagstaff many times coming and going to Phoenix but always routing through Eastern Utah to/from I-70. Maybe someone else out there is familiar with the area.

How do you like to drive?

Hwy 89 North to Hwy 160 is the shortest route It is some senic country through the Navajo reservation! I-40 is just non stop driving. I'll be heading to your state in Febuary. (Fontana, Ca.) Enjoy your trip to Delores! Jeffro
