The RV dealer I work for bought a '05 F-350 6.0 Supercab short bed with 60,000 miles at an auto auction. I had to run a work errand yesterday and took the truck.

I have to say, I was expecting more. I've heard many folks say the 6.0 in stock form outdoes a 7.3 on "steroids". Based on those testimonials, I have to admit I was disapointed.

I dunno, maybe my 7.3 is on more steroids than average? :dunno

I have also heard that a stock 6.0 has about equal power to a modified 7.3. I have yet to drive a 6.0. My uncle bought an '07 6.0 to replace his old 7.3 (my truck) and was impressed with the power it had. He had a programmer on both.

When Bartman drove mine he felt the power
was simular to his modified 7.3.

I think the thing bartman was most suprised
w/ was how quiet my 6.0 is compared to his 7.3

I think the folks that have modded their 7.3's have forgotten how weak they were in stock trim. ;)

Kent, when I test drove a 6.4 for the first time, I truly believed my 6.0 in stock form could spank it, still do.

I love my 6.0 BTW :D

I dunno :dunno

My truck has never seen a dyno, but the sticker on the valve cover says 235 or so.
I think the 99.5's went up to 250 factory horsepower or there abouts.

If were to venture a guestimate, I'd have to say I'm now doing 300 to325 with the chip in the cruisin' mode, around 350 to 375 in the OMG mode.

One thing I am sure of, compared to the 6.0 "shop truck", mine is a LOT more fun. :D:D

I have been near suicidal driving my 7.3 truck without a programer.........would sell it in a heart beat if I had to drive it without programing now.
