Well I finally got stuck for the first time in my truck. Well I got out no prob just had to go a different route than usual. I'd like to get a limited slip rear. What yall recommend? I dont know what rear end my truck is, havnt thought that far ahead yet haha. Its a 99.5 yr. Also what mods can I do to the front? I've heard of air lockers but is that overkill for somethin that wont see mud hardly? Only thing it will go around in a lot is snow but EVERYTHING gets stuck in snow and ice.

I don't care for limited slip on ice and snow. Start to spin a bit on take off and the rear end wants to swing around REALLY easy. If I was gonna spend money, I'd put a locker in the back...

Yep, the good thing about the selectable locker is, you can turn it on or off when needed. And you'd be surprised where you can go with the front and rear locked up in the snow. They also have electric lockers as well, so you don't have to mess with a compressor and stuff. They even have a manually selectable locker available as well. Posi rear ends were cool before the lockers, but there is no comparing the two for traction. Don't even mess with a posi, waste of good locker money in my opinion.

I read up on the ARB air lockers. I didnt know they had electric lockers. What companies you recommend and would you get air or electric?

Two words--- Air Lockers---- keep em off on the road, turn em on in the mud, less wear and tear on the axles. ARB is my choice of lockers, don't know much the electric lockers.

Yea ARB is the only company I know and know of that has air lockers. An air compressor would be sweet to have on my truck too. Do you have them on somethin? I see your truck has a dynatrac kit on it. Do you have their front wheel bearing kit or somethin? So you dont have to replace the WHOLE spindle when the wheel bearing goes bad.

My Dynatrac system replaces alot of the draglink connectors and replaces them with a ball pivot system, big difference in the way it rides and I get more travel out of the front suspension. I have the seperate wheel bearings that are more pricey.I don't have them but my buddy does and they are nice, the compressor might not be what your hoping for, doesn't have the psi I need"bigger compressor" hmmmm????

So you have two separate systems from dynatrac? I could probably make a bigger compressor work. One of these days I will probably do these up grades. What kind of mpg you gettin since you have big lift and tires?

Sorry it took so long to get back on here, been rolling alot in cali. The arb lockers are great. The only down side is the o rings can leak inside the diff from time to time. It keeps the locker from locking in. But other than that they are awesome. They are expensive and time consuming to install (u have to have airtight connections on everything, even when u drill holes in the housing). The compressor is cool for many reasons, especially if you have and extra air tank. (Ie sealed tube bumpers, maybe) Can run air tools, air up tires, etc. The electric lockers are much cheaper, and from what i hear, easier to install and maintain. But i have no experience with them personally. The brand name fails to come to me right now, but the locker is called the e-locker. Ox brand makes the ox locker manual locker if interested. Google the names and see what you think.
