Just sold my ‘10 6.4 and picked up a ‘17 6.7 with a bit more bells and whistles. Loving it so far!
Quick history:
Grew up in TX. Left there Jan 1987 for a career in the Navy. Retired in 2010 to the MS coast. I’ve been working as an inshore fishing guide in LA for the past 5yrs and now I’m moving down to the Buras/Empire/Venice area.
My clients ride in my truck from the lodge to the ramp, so I have to be conscious of her looks. This new girl fits the bill perfectly.
I’ve trolled here for a while, picking up info here and there. Finally decided to come out and join the party.
The pic is of the new SD. I’ve had retractable steps added, but everything else is straight off the lot, including the ProComp Stage II lift. The dealer installed the lift, so it’s covered by warranty.

The steps in that pic are the original static ones. I went back and the dealer installed the retractable steps as part of our sales agreement.
The new ones actually come down just a little more. They look pretty cool, they even have a couple of LED lights under the body that shine down onto the step at night. The steps are pretty much completely hidden when they are in the up position.
I’ll see if I can post a real short video of them in operation.
