hey guys iwas lookin at a bandw turnover hitch i was wonderin how hard they are to install has any body ever done their own

They're not too bad at all, if you are a little mechanical (I am REALLY mechanical) I would recommend getting the right size hole saw to cut the hole i the bed, does a neater job.hey guys iwas lookin at a bandw turnover hitch i was wonderin how hard they are to install has any body ever done their own
Remember to measure 10 times and cut/ drill ONCE.
I had to drill my frame rails the B&W, I don't know if that has changed w/ the new ones. If you have to drill, be absolutely sure to watch out for wiring harness/ fuel/ brake lines, esp. on the LH side rail.
Read the directions first, too, they are pretty good.
I have one in my bed, and have the rhino liner done right up almost flush with it. It's a hidden ball. My buddy put it in for me, as he's an installer, and it wasn't too bad. I have my trailer electrical connection in the bed, up high on the left tailgate post. If I did it again, I'd have had him put the plug facing forward in the truck, instead of facing the right side. I can shoot you a picture for tomorrow if you wish. I think my total price was $350...
You just need to be careful about drilling the frame there's a right way and a wrong way, and the location is important too. You want to be just slightly ahead of the rear axle, like 2-3 inches. Gives you a better weight balance.

I installed a B&W in the 06. Never had to drill any holes but my 4 inch exhaust had to get tweeked to keep it from rattling on the hitch brace. Hardest part was holding up the center plate to get the bolts in.

The B&W is a true turn-over ball as where the one in the pics Kleetus posted are of a Fold-down goose-neck hitch. I have a fold-down ball and it works great. You may find that the fold-down unit is a little cheaper. Both of them are easy to install and work great.

I have the fold down hitch in the 01 and it takes alot bigger hole in the bed, plus it still sticks up into the bed. I had to remove it to do some welding on it once. It isn't as strong as the B&W turn over ball that the 06 has.

I've got a pop-up industries flip-over setup in mine. took me about 4 horus to install by myself.
