What Dave said, 100%. Check [ALL] yer Chassis Ground connections too. There are Many components that Ground individually.

If yer cross frame (20 year old) + or = cables make a "crunchy" sound when you bend'm.. they're prolly full of corrosion. (?)

If it's cranking slow, I'd do the same thing I told the OP..
Isolate and check each battery, and do a voltage drop test. Pinpoints your issue in a hurry.

I know a lot of times, guys will post looking for the common failure, and that's OK., but it's cheaper in the long run to learn how, and then to, diagnose the system.
Keeps you from buying a tub full of spare parts.
