I've been in the market for a good flats boat and I thing I found one with the shallowest draft you could ask for. Looks like you can run wide open in four inches of water. Awsome, now I'll be able to find the skinny water and get into some reds.

Really though, there is an '03 Ranger 169 Ghost that a guide out here is selling. Hope I can talk him down a little so that I don't have to take out a loan. That's the last thing I need right now. Looks like this.

I saw that boat in the black and white picture in a boat dealership in Louisiana. Prized by the Cajuns, it is known as the Coonass 2870. 28 inches wide, 70 inches long and a 2 inch draft. Great for getting around the bayou!:roflmao

My dad and I had a boat that I would have been happy to try that with. I can't tell you how many times I was stranded five or ten miles down river and had to run the trolling motor the whole way. No...it doesn't last that long.

Good luck on finding a boat. It is the market right now. Just sold mine today to some guys from Holland. They come to the USA twice a year and buy boats and ship them back to Holland. I have to take and put mine on a ship Tuesday. I will miss it.
