well i should say, gone south....my turbo that is. what a bummer. checked it out today and shaft has more then 1/16 " of play. impeller is hitting housing, so luckily i still have warranty...hopefully next one will last longer then 45000k(73000km)this also explains my noise under load....


have it booked in for monday mourning to get fixed....

anybody else who had their turbo replaced have this problem? also noticed an excessive amount off oil build-up in the I/C tubes, even the one i cleaned out 3 weeks ago....this could explain my blue smoke at cold start up.....

Good thing you still have warranty, those turbos are not cheap (I speak from experience)

An impeller hitting the housing sure will makes some noise, and can also cause smoking.

Oil in the I/C tubes is normal, you could be getting more from the turbo, too.

You'll be happy when you get a good turbo back on, you'll be happy

You're lucky it hasn't leaked enough to support an engine runaway condition... you can have some real problems there...
