Glow Plugs

What is the prescribed method for testing the glow plug system?

It looks like if I can get to connectors C1413 and C1414 I can test the output of the Glow Plug Relay and test the continuity of each glow plug but not sure I can get my hands in there.

I ask this because each AM that it is below 45 degrees the truck starts but loops for 30 seconds at any throttle above idle. Truck runs and starts fine all the rest of the day.

I'm thinking bad glow plugs on one side.

if a glow plug is bad it will set a code in the pcm.have a glow plug on demand test done and see if it spits out a code.the vehicle might need a reflash done for the cold start issue.does the vehicle have a block heater on it.if so plug it in and see if it helps the problem

I don't have access to a OBD2 to read any codes so I was just looking for a means of testing things with a meter.

I have located the 2 connectors I mentioned above and may be able to get to them without taking things off for access.

This is a new problem as I don't remember this last year.

You want to read something like 2 to 5 ohms across the glow plug. They will be bad if 0 ohms or open (∞ ohm).
