I've always made smoke on the high settings but now it has started to smoke on start up and even with the chip pulled. Any ideas?

R U getting the same boost numbers as before. If the boost numbers are down, it may indicate a leak somewhere. Less air will result in more smoke.

Possibly an intercooler boot blown off.

Boost numbers are the same, new air filter, and all boots are snug. Mileage is also down 2mpg. The truck feels the same it just smokes.

72 psi. Right where I set it. Could this be external injector o-rings? 180,000 miles on truck, injectors have never been out.

Just went out and pulled the HX Hose and checked each side individually. The driver side had more pressure without the chip. 2200 psi WOT and pegged the guage at 3000 psi on the 3-O/D shift only. Passenger side ran 2000 psi and 2600 on the 3-O/D shift. Results were pretty much the same in the the 2 tow programs. In the 2 high HP settings, both side were within 100 psi and only pegged the guage on the 3-O/D shift. My thought looking at the stock numbers is that I possibly have a degrading injector on the passenger side. Is there any way to look at the injector and determine if it is going bad other than seeing oil pouring out of it (saw that once on a different truck that would not start). Any ideas?

From what I read , the lack of even pressure from one side to the other ,would indicate there may be an injector o ring leaking....

There may also be a cracked or broken nozzle....
