Hopefully this is in line with Naka's original post since it's about gauges. I have a full set of ISSPROs 2 1/16", wholesale from a truck trailer supply firm but they don't sell mounting pods.

Anyway, I picked up an autometer pillar mount from a different supplier than the one I mentioned earlier in this thread however the gauges slide in very loosely. The vendor I mentioned earlier sells Propods and he also carries ISSPRO gauges, no Autometer. Is the Propod a "better" pod when it comes to fitting ISSPRO gauges. I did try an autometer gauge in the pod I bought and it fit very snugly. I tried a bit of black electrical tape around my ISSPRO gauge but it didn't work out as well as I had hoped, one tight wrap and it bunched up when sliding the gauge in.

So in the experience of ISSPO users is your pod a Propod or autometer. Or does anyone have any ideas on making the ISSPRO gauges fit a little more tightly in the autometer pod?

Cheers all

Mounts

dieselpilot,

Pro Pods used to be the manufacturer for the supplier to Auto Meter, delivery and quality issues caused that to be terminated and now Gauge Works supplies all the mounts for Auto Meter. Best fit and finish available and new innovative products on a regular basis too. If you have any questions or need a mount just call.

Thanks for the info Mark. Question, do you mount the ISSPRO gauges you carry in the autometer pod and how do they fit, as snugly as the autometer gauges or slightly loose?

I talked to the ISSPRO wholesaler today, we buy our manufacturing parts from this company, and he said that ISSPRO sell a 3 guage pillar pod, R7707, and he ordered one for my gauges. He said if that doesn't work out, no problem, they would take care of it. If that doesn't work out I'm going to give you a call as I've been to your site and it looks like you have the "stuff" to fix me up.

I did have the autometer pod and while they fit autometer gauges really nicely my ISSPRO gauges were pretty loose. My last truck was rigged with autometer gauges and while I really liked them I wanted to try the ISSPRO gauges. They just don't fit the autometer pod very well, about 1 millimeter smaller diameter than the autometer gauges.

I found a local electrical hobby shop for 12 volt white LEDs so they'll make the ISSPRO gauges "super" enhanced brightness gauges, (g). I've also had a bit of problem getting paint for the POD, our locals speed shops are out of VHT, FORD grey, but I found an exotic paint shop selling SEM paint, perfect match.

Thanks for the info, I appreaciate your time.
Cheers

dieselpilot,

Yep the Isspro gauges fit the Auto Meter mounts just fine, if anything they might be too tight on purpose and might require you to use some 180 grit sandpaper to open the hole up slightly. We sell them everyday and never have any issues. All these gauges are 2 1/16th inches but the tolerance is somewhat lax etc.
